Clear information. Practical next steps. Respect for every ability.Educational information disclaimer

A little preparation can make a meeting easier to follow. Write down your questions, examples, and desired outcomes. Bring only records that are relevant and appropriate to share through the school’s established process.

  1. What is going well, and what does the student enjoy?
  2. What concern prompted this meeting?
  3. What information or evaluation data does the team have?
  4. What support options are being considered?
  5. How will the team monitor the support?
  6. Who should I contact with follow-up questions?
  7. What is the next step, who is responsible, and when will we reconnect?

Ask for unfamiliar terms to be explained. If you need an interpreter or communication access, contact the school beforehand. IDEA regulations describe parent participation and access to educational records in applicable IDEA contexts.
